    Program Information

    LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers in Canada) is a free program funded by the Canadian government to help newcomers learn and improve their English. LINC courses at WWCC help newcomers get involved in the community, learn about Canada, and gain the knowledge they need to find employment and become Canadian citizens.

    Full-Time Day Program

    Our full-time program provides intensive support and resources for working women looking to enhance their skills and qualifications. Join us for a structured curriculum that covers a wide range of topics to help you excel in your career.

    Part-Time Day Program

    Balancing work and personal commitments? Our part-time program offers flexibility while still delivering valuable insights and tools to empower you in your professional journey. Connect with like-minded individuals and grow at your own pace.

    Part-Time Evening Program

    Gain access to industry experts, networking opportunities, career guidance, and ongoing support throughout your program. Our goal is to equip you with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the workplace and beyond.

    Pathway to Canadian Citizenship

    LINC Classes

    Take LINC classes to grow your knowledge of Canada and your English skill until you have finished CLB 4 in Listening and Speaking.

    Citizenship Driven Course

    Register for our Citizenship Driven Course designed to help prepare you for the citizenship test.

    Group Chat

    We also offer informal chat groups where you can discuss the citizenship test and prepare with others.

    How to Register for English Classes

    Get a level test.

    Book an appointment with the YMCA 416-925-5462 for an assessment. Bring your immigration documents.  Tell them you want to attend classes at Working Women.

    Call us.

    After your tests are done, call us at 416-494-7978 x421.

    Come to our school.

    Bring your YMCA documents to us at 5 Fairview Mall Drive. We are on the 4th floor of the medical building north of Fairview Mall.

    Confirm space available.

    If there is space in the course you want, we will register you. If the class is full, we will put you on a waiting list and will call you when a space opens up.

    Extra Activities & Programs

    In addition to LINC Classes, our students can participate in a range of activities that help people meet new people, make friends, connect with other people from their home country and learn about the local  community and Canadian culture.

     Learn about Canadian Culture

    Our LINC is about more than English.  We run multiple events and workshops that introduce newcomers to Canadian culture including holidays, trips to local attractions like the Royal Ontario Museum and Indigenous culture.

    Make new friends and socialize with other learners

    Our social activities help LINC students meet other people and start new friendships outside of LINC classes. 

    Language Based Programs

    We also coordinate activities for specific language groups to help people connect with others in their native language.

    For LINC Families

    We offer limited spaces in our childminding program so that parents are able to focus on their lessons while their children participate in programs in a safe environment.

    Free Service

    This is a free service funded by the Government of Canada.

    Trained Early Childhood Educators

    Our program is run by a team of experienced and caring professionals who are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for your child. All our CNC staff are trained and certified in early childhood development as Early Childhood Educators or Early Childhood Assistants.

    Ages

    Children must be  between 6 months to 6 years old to attend.

    Waiting list

    This is a popular program and usually has a wait list. Please call 416-494-7978 or visit with the registrar at our front desk. Waitlist updates are ongoing. 

    Activities for kids

    We offer a range of enriching age-appropriate activities designed to stimulate your child's social, emotional and cognitive development, making their time with us both fun and educational.
