GMAIL
Each student is assigned a Google email through our oymtutoring.ca web address. Any unauthorized use of the account will lead to the termination of the student’s activity with the On Your Mark program.
Sign into your Google Account to access the Online Tutoring Session platform and to use the Google services On Your Mark provides. Please be sure to sign in at least 10- 20 minutes before your session starts in case there are any issues logging in (password error, etc.), if you need help please email one of the Program Coordinators immediately.
GOOGLE SUITE
Parents will be responsible for the following each week before your child's tutoring session begins:
1. Sign into the students On Your Mark Gmail.
2. Accept the Tutor's invitation to the tutoring session (if applicable).
3. Click on the LINK with invitation on the DAY and the TIME of the session.
Please note, your child's tutor will be emailing a RECURRING LINK to your child’s Gmail. The same LINK will be used each week, so tutors do not have to send out a LINK every week.
CAMERA
Please make sure that your child has their camera ON during the sessions so that students and tutors can benefit from a more engaging connection during the sessions. Tutors are requested to have their camera ON as well. We do understand and respect if there are privacy concerns, for tutor or student. If this is the case, we ask the participant to let us know if they need to keep their camera OFF.
CONTACTING PARENT/GUARDIANS
We ask parents/guardians to check their personal EMAIL (the email you provided on the registration form) before each session and as often as you can to ensure you are aware of any cancellations, changes in support session routines, feedback from the tutor or supervisor, etc.
WEEKLY SUPPORT SESSIONS – ARRIVING LATE TO THE ONLINE SESSIONS
Please note that tutoring sessions are expected to start promptly at the scheduled time. Students should wait for their tutor for no more than 15 minutes. If the tutor has not arrived within that time, students should log off.
If a supervisor is not present during the session, we ask parents to email the program coordinators to inform them that the tutor did not show up. We can then follow up with the tutor and let you know if they are able to offer a make-up/recovery session.
Similarly, tutors should wait for students for no more than 15 minutes. If a student does not arrive within that time, we will contact the parents to follow up.
