    LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) has become a vital part in the settlement and integration of newcomers to Canada. Funded by Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), LINC provides our clients the opportunity to not only learn English, but to learn about life in Canada.

    Is LINC for women only?

    Men may also attend.

    Can kids and high-school students attend LINC?

    LINC is an adult program. High-school students and younger kids have ESL programs available to them at their schools.

    Is the Care for Newcomer Children a daycare that I can use if I go to work? 

    We only watches children of LINC studens while theyare attending class.  CNC is only available to parents, not grandparents.

    Is LINC Part-time or Full-time?

    You can attend LINC part-time or full-time depending on your schedule.

    Can I go to LINC class while I wait for the government to accept my application for refugee status? 

    You must wait until get the official letter that says your application was accepted. 

    Can I go to LINC class if I only have a work permit?

    Students, people with work permits or super visas cannot attend LINC. You may access English classes through private schools, the Toronto Public Library or Toronto District School Board.

    Call 416-925-5462 or visit https://www.ymcagta.org/immigrant-services/language-assessment-and-referral-services to book an appointment for a free test.
